Dragon Age (PC)
Bioware has made a business out of churning out epic RPGs, with the lineage going all the way to Baldur's Gate over ten years ago. Dragon Age: Origins continues the series of dialogue-heavy RPGs started by Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and shares many similarities with Jade Empire and Mass Effect. We get a whole new setting, new characters and some gameplay changes, but the overall framework is mostly tried and true.

Re: Dragon Age (PC)
It's a good game if I were to compare it to current day RPG games, but it's just not my kind of RPG game. It's linear, and most -not all- dialogue options don't even make a difference.
This game is too much of a dungeon crawl for me, but it could of been more enjoyable, maybe with a decent combat system and better camera follow or options and inventory system. Not to mention the virtually missing RP aspects. The weak, although tried, combat system didn't add to the fun either, nor did the weak AI. The skills and talents are terribly unbalanced too, but that's not rare in single player games. Looking back I did enjoy the NPC companions interaction though. Simply put it's a diluted version of BG with random gore on the side. All this probably done to be more in line with the typical console "rpg" games. /equips flameproofsuit |
