Report: Duke Nukem Developer 3D Realms Closes Doors

3D Realms, independent developer of the Duke Nukem action franchise, is closing its doors and its employees being let go, according to multiple industry sources.

That's awful. While the joke of Duke Nukem Never is long in the tooth and younger gamers don't even understand it, it has become a sort of tradition. Now that it's become truth, it can no longer be a joke. It's a sad, sad day.

I wonder if this is just a huge trolling effort. It's possible that the game is nearly finished, and 3D Realms is just playing along with the joke, only to release a trailer in a few weeks.

Right now, I couldn't care less.

I would be sorry for them if it was 10 or even 5 years ago.

I have lost all interest in DNF and 3D Realms. Which is a great step considering Duke Nukem 3D was for years my favourite FPS and favourite franchise.

I am not surprised at all if they have closed doors. It feels like they forgot how to work some time ago.
