Question regarding windows 7/Vista and mobility modder..

i read here,

4sysops - Vista x64 vs. Vista x86 - 32 bit or 64 bit Vista edition?

that with 64 bit OS's u cannot instally unsigned drivers. I thought that the modded drivers are unsigned so how can 64 bit Vista users install the them. I just want to clear this up because if u cant install them in vista 64 bit then i might have to skip getting Windows 7 64 bit and opt for 32 bit.

Thanks

Re: Question regarding windows 7/Vista and mobility modder..

I've yet to see a machine that has windows vista 64bit/ windows 7 64bit that wouldn't let me install unsigned drivers.

HOWEVER those are using retail and OEM copies of microsoft windows NOT provided by a prebuild manufacturer like Dell/compaq and so forth.

In another words, so long as you have a Microsoft Supplied OEM or Retail copy of either 64bit OSes, you SHOULDN'T have a problem.

This however i've only experienced with North American copies of the OS throughout Vista starter through to Ultimate.

All i get is while installing unsigned drivers, a warning box durring install, i click continue and then i never had to worry about it.

I've been running unsigned drivers since vista launched essentially.
