PS3 price cut expected in April

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter is anticipating that Sony will cut the price of the PlayStation 3 to USD 299 in April this year, a move which will reignite sales of the console.

He's also expecting Microsoft to announce a drop in price for the Xbox 360 Pro SKU to USD 249, probably at or before E3 in June - although no price change is expected for the Nintendo Wii.

Re: PS3 price cut expected in April

299USD is a hell of a price, especially to get the bluray player for movies with HDMI out.

Re: PS3 price cut expected in April

mmm

considering i've got a hdmi connected blu-ray players...... and have various tvs with 120hz modes.. some with interpolation capabilities (inserting estimated and caculated frames between to increase the true framerate).... the tvs with 120hz running 60hz hdmi connection do look nice..... but i think the 24hz on those 120hz are generally alot smoother looking, now a 120hz tv with the motionplus or similare technologies can only be truely enjoyed when running 24hz (giving 48FPS)...

can't wait to see what the 240hz tv's look like

Re: PS3 price cut expected in April

Xbox 360 Pro SKU for 249$
PlayStation 3 for 299$

Are very attractive prices!
I will definitely buy one of these consoles.(maybe PS3 because of blueray) However, i would like mostly to see a price drop on Nintendo Wii.

Re: PS3 price cut expected in April

i dont see wii price dropping anytime soon. to much demand & already has a fairly reasonable price considering the demand.
tho it has been out long enough that a price drop is warranted... imo

Re: PS3 price cut expected in April

The PS3's price is going down? I wonder what features they're removing this time.
