Ghostbusters: The Video Game (X360 & PS3) Review @ GH
Read The Review here
________________ A portion of the audience reading this review will have seen the legendary Ghostbusters movie from 1984, even if you arent old enough to have been around when it was first released. The new game from Atari is damned good fun and is set to appeal to a huge cross section of the gaming audience - especially as it is based on a possible forthcoming third movie in the franchise. |

Note this is a time exclusive for the PS3 in PAL regions. Personally I'm looking forward to the Wii version, as it looks to have a fun way of controlling the ghostbuster.

Just a small note, the Xbox 360 NTSC version is region free, so for those PAL xbox 360 owners who can't wait, import it

Re: Ghostbusters: The Video Game (X360 & PS3) Review @ GH
I rented both the Wii version and the Xbox 360 version for a few days last week.
I did not like the Wii version and I stopped playing after one or two missions. It was not fun to play. However, one nice thing was that you could play in split screen mode for two local players. I liked the Xbox 360 version more. I beat the game at the normal difficulty in two days. Overall, it was okay but it felt it little average or worse. It was a frustrating experience at some places in the game. When you fall, you teamates come and put you back on your feet. If all your teamates die, you die. It was fine when you were fighting with four other ghostbusters but when alone or with only one, it became very hard. I hate how you run in the game. It takes some time for your character to start to run when you hold down the run key and you can't turn much when you run. That means that it can be hard to run to your teamates to put them back on their feet. The load times are long! That might be the worse part of the game. Between 30 seconds and 45 seconds every time you die. At one point near the end, I died about 10 times in a row at the same place. Everytime, there was a 30 second load time, then a 30 second of waiting while the ghostbusters discussed between them, then some combat where I died. It took me a few tried to figure out what to do and many more to succeed at doing it. The hard part was that you only had one ghostbuster with you, you were attacked from the sky and the floor at the same time and the monsters were reappearing indefinitely until you did some specific action a few times. It's the place where you need to open a gate for the car. I don't like the AI in the game and since the game relies on it so much, it can get frustrating. I did not try the online modes, I only have a silver subscription. My personal opinion is a rent, not a buy. |
